Recent purchases.
From the prompting of a friend I did order the see thru mounts from midway for the Mini I have been meaning too for a while just haven't gotten to it.I have been through a couple of styles at one point I picked up (cheap) rail that fits in ruger slots for ruger mounts so that you can use various sighting systems in that case you got what ya payed for stripped one screw right off. I have factory mounts with a cheap scope I think around sixty bucks at wally world.But it is accurate at close ranges we get to practice at right now.
Eventually I hope to pick up holographic type sight but for now this works.I also have sling set coming for a private sale weapon all I will tell ya is this one requires barrel band type mount.
Then since said friend and the state of affairs we are facing has me motivated to get what I can while I can I also ordered stripper clips for nagant and bipod for my single shot.
Broke for this period but next I am seriously considering a lg purchase of sand bags.To be filled if needed. This will really make em think I am crazy.But if you are bugging in,would help stop small arms fire.

Nasty shit!
That was US version.The VC version was a rifle or pistol round positioned over a nail so that as it was stepped on it would detonate! Taking off toes or part of foot.Hence name Toe Popper.

Some thoughts on rifle calibers.
Most of ya are gun guys.So you know battle rifles were full size cartridges along the lines of 30-06.At the beginning of the Vietnam war the US and other Countries down sized to 5.56 and similar like 5,45x 39. No not to piss off all of ya who love your AR's but we basically went from a big game round to a varmint round.If you had a 200 lb guy coming at you would you want a deer or bear sized round or a varmint round designed for groundhogs?
I do shoot a Mini-14 so yeah I have a groundhog gun too.Main reason is because I can get green tips fairly reasonable.
They have little tiny steel rod in core.Better yet surplus 7.62x54r they have it too with a lot more bullet weight and powder behind it and its still reasonable for now. If .223/5.56 is all ya can afford thats one thing but a lot of guys think just be cause the military used it its the best,often times true but not always.What I don't get is the guys who spend a boatload of money on their AR platform but not upgrading caliber?
There are some wicked rounds available for AR platform like 6.8 grendel,308,etc I am a puss don't think I would want to shoot huge caliber out of that light a weapon.But intermediate to lg would be awesome weapon.
Those of us that are funds limited have to do the best we can with what we can.Again not slamming anybody's favorite guns just that I hear people talking about 500-600 yards with AR in .223. I have my mini for close range house to house type city action.If you consider your AR 600 yard gun try it before taking the gun store experts advice.
Several reports coming out of the sandbox has US troopers wanting stronger round.You see one of the news media's favorite photos is US troop with m-21.There are many weapons on AR platform shooting 308 on up rounds.
Just sayin if you have the money to play there is some cool stuff out there.

Revolution coming?
I have always told people by the time main stream media reports on something its too late. Well they are talking of revolution.
A lot of folks who weren't are nervous! Talk of social security being broke even though politicians are saying its still in good shape is scary for many.
Economy is worse,unemployment is no better,job creation is not happening,health care hell who knows many are predicting it will be very expensive and care may be metered.
I hope you have food and water put away.I hope you armed.
A revolution will be an ugly thing even if it is needed!
At this point in time many many Americans see know other way,politics are politics Dem or Repub same ol same over spending pure waste.
I personally don't mind paying some taxes.But to see what I work so hard for wasted is maddening.
To have elected officials ignore or worse do the opposite of what the people want is maddening.
To have an elected rep say violent action by the people if they don't get what they want is brave and true,to have a party leader say this was an inappropriate comment is bullshit!
The founding fathers of this country always left armed overthrow of a Govt that taxed without representation,that violated the rights of its citizens,that worked out side of the Constitution.
This Country was founded on the blood of Patriots! Do I want to see the blood of my friends and family and fellow Patriots,NO,but when all else fails what is left?
Apparently this is what many feel are left as their only course of action.Is anyone in Washington listening?

Response Time in a crisis?
The minutemen were so named because of there ability to drop what they were doing pick up their gear and assemble in a minute.
Lets say we have economic crisis tomorrow at 6:pm. People go crazy once they realize they are locked out of their bank accounts,credit cards dead,no gas from debit card,no food cause they were going to the store latter in the week.Martial law is declared.Troops roll in,the President declares all citizens to turn in all firearms.Many citizens turn in their weapons.Gangs start doing home invasions since everyone is disarmed they feel pretty safe! By this point everyone is out for themselves,towns and city's are burning,military has lost control so the UN troops are called in to control the situation.
You as a Patriotic American refuse to disarm and will fight to the end. Now since most things are broadcast over the news you probably will have plenty of time to get ready.
Being of the survivalist mindset you have a bob ready to go.But you have small kids at home so loaded rifles standing in each corner are out.In fact as a responsible parent you have a gunsafe and each gun has a lock.
If you look out living room window at 6:00 pm tomorrow night and blue helmets are rolling up your street, how long will it take you to be ready to fight?
The old saying time is of the essence has never been truer!
You may have 2 mins to get armed and gone.Can you do it? Think about it! You are going to be freaking out,your family will be freaking out, are you ready?
Take a hint from the minuteman.Try a drill.Have a plan in place!

I haven't picked up the report myself yet but apparently the web bots are still predicting bad things for 2010-2011. I didn't pull up link but its at half past human or go Ure's urban survival.com both great sites.But at this point do you really need web bots or economist or even us survival guru's telling ya the shit is about to hit the fan? Didn't think so!
For those that do,here goes. Americas, hell the worlds economy is in the toilet ok still swirling but it is going down. Obamas Govt has us in debt by three trillion dollars Yeah I know Bush sucked too.Untill we get another party that can actually win it will be Dems or Repubs not much difference between the two. They want us unarmed and powerless,they want your money.
Store food,guns,ammo, alternative heating and cooking sources,water and filters,medical supplies,books on things you need to know but don't.Knowledge and info is probably more important than anything,much of it is free get off your ass and get some.
7 more banks shut down fri. Unemployment is still in the 450 some thousand range so no sparky things are not getting better.
Guns and food may never be cheaper than now!

Anger dying out?
It seems people are not as angry or scared as they were,say a year ago. I wonder why? Their rights are still being eroded,their hard earned dollars are worth less on a daily basis,their hard earned tax dollars are wasted, I mean flat out wasted,and the politicians who do it think nothing of it.
Prices are up on everything. Well everything except wages. Who is looking out for us? The political party's are taking care of themselves,not the citizens who pay their wages. More jobs are lost by the day. They look at the numbers and say well its not that bad.450,000 is bad.Really Really bad if one of those jobs was yours!
All I hear from any of em, is jibberish. Who is gonna make America the Awesome SUPERPOWER we once were? They all place blame yet,yet while they talk and finger point,jobs are dying out,prices are rising,medical care is expensive and hard to get, Nations laugh at America,we send them money,while America dies, we are Republic a nation of laws with a Constitution and yet our President laughs at this Constitution he swore to uphold.
Even those pussies the French are out in the streets,what the Fuck?
Where is the Anger here in the land of the FREE???
And by Anger I don't mean a shooting Revolution, but perhaps a march on DC by the people of America. To far away? What about on our local Statehouses with a large well organized crowd with demands to be met or else spelled out for the local crooks to be forwarded to their handlers in D.C????
People if something isn't done and soon it will be too late for America as we know it!
If you are counting on the upcoming elections to save us,sorry,thats just the second coming of the same ol cavalry!
